Postmortem


In my honest opinion, I feel like Teeny Trax was kind of rushed. The game started three days into the jam, and it lacks many features that I wanted the final game to have. In the end I had to make this game simply a time trial instead of the fully-fledged racing game that I wanted this to be. Not to mention that mid-way through I began to run out of steam…

There’s also the problem of being able to jump at will at any point in the track. I have to be able to allow the player to skip some checkpoints in order for the player to make shortcuts effectively. But at the same time, I can’t have the player skip too many, or they can just drive back and forth between two points to finish a race. Despite my best efforts, it’s still possible to create huge shortcuts that can skip half the track.

But I still feel like it’s a fun experience, even if I couldn’t add everything I wanted to. This isn’t my first game jam, and this most certainly won’t be my last. I look forward to seeing what you guys have to offer! And a huge thank you to everyone who’s played Teeny Trax up to this point!
